Misalignment when interacting with objects that force player movement

in this specific case it’s the doors to the houses in sacrament, also sidling against a wall seems to make it easier to initiate the animation from a weird angle
currently this isn’t a big deal since I believe the only objects you can interact with that force player movement are these doors that also trigger a level transition but if at a later point in development some new objects get introduced that cause the player to be displaced a set distance on interacting with them and don’t have a level transition it could easily cause the player to get stuck inside a wall
first instance, recreated but originally happened by pure accident when I wasn’t specifically trying to break anything

more angles

same door no sidling

different door no sidling

Hi zay,

I guess I’m a little slow today, but what is your expected behaviour and what is going wrong there?

Silas

I would expect the character to walk into the doorway, and not nearly 90 degrees to the side into a wall

in the last video I walk through some barrels and end up completely inside the wall when the loading screen triggers

again, it’s not actively causing any issues right now but if there ever is something causing similar movement and without a loading screen, then you could end up stuck inside a wall or other object because you’re not moving in the expected direction
