Could we consider triggering wall interactions only in key terrains where wall sticking behavior is necessary? Currently, triggering wall interactions on any wall doesn’t seem to provide much benefit, but the downside is that it often interrupts my intended interaction. For example, I want to enter my house, but end up sticking to the door for a long time. Or I want to trade with an NPC behind the counter, but end up sticking to the counter for a long time.
Moreover, overusing this wall-sticking prompt may lead to ignoring it when encountering terrains where wall sticking behavior is actually needed later on.
You can knock on the wall, that leads me to believe the devs intend to add some sort of secret wall mechanic. where you sidle and knock to hear the sound of the false wall, at least thats what a hope for.

Tired of leaning against my door as well
Possible, maybe simpler solution solution:
Don‘t trigger wall interaction with a prompt, but automatically, by steering.
Would leave the prompt open and keep the mechanic intact for other uses (for example cover/stealth utility).
At least for things like doors, where there are two possible actions (sidle or open), it would be nice if each action wasn’t gated behind where the character is positioned.
In the same way that you can change quick-item selections, by holding one button and changing the item that it selects, the same kind of mechanism could be used to select between multiple actions: hit a button that doesn’t automatically try to sidle or open the door, but instead brings up a list of possible actions that you then choose from.
I also assume there is a reason the game has a sidle option for all of these things where sidling currently makes no sense at all. I hope the explanation is as already mentioned: future content. Otherwise, I consider it a bug.
There is a spot in Nameless Pass that has a crack in the wall. If you move towards the crack and pound the wall it’s hollow. Move 2ft to the right or left and it sounds solid. And just the other day I saw a blue glow from inside the crack. I tried grenades and tried pounding on the wall over and over but could not figure it out. There are a few areas in-game that seem like they are Prime for a Grenade to blow them open. Just…early access locked atm.
