I’m sure it was considered and not given for a reason, but honestly I feel unhappy playing this game without a minimap. Sure you can say it’s “more immersive” or something. For me though, it’s just “more annoying” 
You want to make one of the best arpgs of all time, then you shouldn’t delete one of the most loved features of all time.
Anyhow, that’s my 2 cents, I’m sure there’s fanatics on the other side of this viewpoint. But imho, they could simply turn the feature off in the settings and then both sides would be happy
