Hello, After The Breach update, my character from the previous version of the game is no longer available. I understand this update brought major changes and save files might not be compatible anymore. However, I had invested several days into that character and losing all progress is extremely frustrating. As instructed on Steam, I checked the DataStore folder. I can see some .dat and .vdf files, like account12345678.dat, accountSettings.dat, but there is no player.dat or .TMP file. Is there any way to recover the old character or make the current save files work in the new version? Will there be any tool or patch to import characters from crucible_legacy into the current build? Starting over is very discouraging, especially with how much time was invested. I’d truly appreciate any help or clarification on whether recovery is possible or being planned. Thank you for your time !

We understand the frustrations behind losing your progression and characters, it was something that was a must with all the major content changes.
We do, however, offer a Legacy Branch for you to return to your old characters and saves, however, legacy will not have the newest features and content.
To access the Legacy branch, right-click No rest for the wicked in your Steam library, go to properties, then BETA. In the beta drop, you will find a “Crucible_Legacy” option. Use this to return to the pre-breach state to continue any unfinished pre-breach adventures!

Thanks for the answer. That’s what I thought. GPT chat told me about it so I started the game again because I love fighting in this game so starting the game again still gives me fun, worse with collecting all the resources again because it’s time-consuming. I prefer to have access to new things from the update, I just hope that the next bigger update won’t make it necessary to start the game again because if so I’d better know about it right away and then I’ll wait for the full version of the game, best regards 
We do not have any more plans until 1.0 to have any more wipes.
However this being EA it is hard to promise these things as the game will continue to change in big ways, we are glad to hear you are enjoying the game.
