Iona’s Bloom Quest Performance

I’m not sure if this is the right place to post this.

In the Iona’s Bloom Quest when you touch the flower, the performance takes a nose dive that makes that whole area virtually unplayable. I’m talking about fps in the single digits.

The light bridges are also bugged and weird since I can see only some flickering lights that don’t form a clear path. Most of the time I walk on an empty space and is like solid floor, and other times I step on the light but fall through to my death. This, along the horrible performance is making this part completely unplayable and literally impossible to finish.

I’m playing the game on a MacBook Pro M3 Max 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU with 64GB Unified Memory, using CrossOver.

Most parts of the game play really well with occasional fps dips, but this part in particular is incredibly bad.

we had another report of this on Discord

I have the exact same problem. I assume it’s a Crossover/D3DMetal problem in interpreting the transparencies of the “drugged” effect of Iona’s Bloom, which look great on actual PC hardware. I watched a video of a YouTube playthrough and kept pausing it, trying to match the video’s location to my own to navigate through the section, and made it a fair way but finally had to give up as it was almost impossible to get through and I restarted the quest about 50 times trying to work through it.

M4 Mac Mini, 10 core CPU/GPU, 16GB, CrossOver 25.1. The second the effects of the bloom begin, FPS goes from the 50s to 4, then gradually climbs back to the 30s as you climb out of the initial well, but frame timing is…staggering at best. Tried a wide array of graphics settings and CrossOver settings to mitigate the problem but no go.
