This is specific feedback to do with the mini boss towards the end of the Iona’s Bloom cave, after the firebombing section.
I found this mini boss to be extremely frustrating and unfair.
Unpacking my feedback, there are two issues with this encounter.
First, the encounter itself.
The boss attack hitbox appears to be larger than its animation, particularly the shoulder charge which has very little (if any) tell. And the large jumping attack, which appears to have an AOE splash that is way outside its visible animation.
I have also seen this jumping attack rotate completely to track the player mid flight, such that it’s pointless dodging it if you’re within a certain proximity.
Also, the fact this boss can open with a very accurate fire bomb in a narrow corridor as well as having an unfair move set just makes it so unfun.
The second issue, is that the boss is difficult to ‘practice’, or to learn because of the time consuming and long run back from the whisper at the start of this area, every time you die.
It’s galling that he can basically two shot you and then you have a 3 minute run back to being able to work out what you did wrong.
The two issues combined just make me want to put the game down at this point, or resolve to skipping the boss, which probably isn’t ideal by design.
That’s it from me on this bit of feedback.
