If i have electric damage on weapon from enchantment, adding an electric gem add more?
Or it will replace it?
Will spike add more raw damage?
Will another element gem replace it???
I’d like to know also. I don’t think elements stack for sure tho. Like if you had plague Dmg then use fire enchantment.
No idea… It would be nice if the character sheet displayed all + dmg modifiers in a grand-total dmg as DPS in a nice lil column…
Right now, I think as the other said, stacking probably doesn’t work, and + element dmg sources with different opposing elements probably just overwrite the other on which enchant was last… So many questions –
Not 100% about electric, but I believe you can put a fire gem in a weapon that already has fire damage enchanted on it, and the damage does appear to increase. I have a claymore that seems to do about +35 to 45% damage as a fire damage number popup, and I wouldn’t have gotten that with just the enchant or just the gem. So I assume electric would as well? Unless I’m getting thrown off by certain enemies taking increased fire damage.
I would be curious if you measured before & after on the same enemy type.
Different elements I think might be bugged, or are at least confusing in their implementation. I also have a weapon with electric damage from an enchant, and I added a cold gem to it, but I never see any ice damage numbers and nothing ever seems to get frozen either. Possible the enemies are all dying too fast to become frozen.
I tested this and it a little doesnt seem to stack (yet) i imagine its a bug. The damage numbers made no difference on the 2 things i tested (claymores) 2 fully upgraded 54 atk dmg claymores both were dealing 150 on a fire throw the total for 1 enchant was 6% fire dmg the other with double enchant/gem was 13% fire damage total. Not amazing numbers or a huge difference but hey thats rng and what i got. Loadout was same for both weapons so i could get bigger numbers to hopefully see better variation.
133 against the false gaurdians (armored foes in crucible). This did not vary.
The numbers did vary slightly as in it wasnt always 150 it was sometimes 151 but both claymores produced this number probbaly 1/10 hits i did not write down every time, its possible the difference in dmg maths out by letting the 13% sqeak ahead by getting a few more 1’s in.
I havent mathed this out cause i mainly enjoy playing but i do like my data and keep a scratch pad with me as i play.
As of my testing 2 of the same type do not stack.
Example:
Weapon Enchant +physical dmg and gem + element dmg stack
Weapon Enchant + element dmg and gem +physical dmg stack
Weapon Enchant +fire dmg and gem +fire dmg only applys the highest element roll
Weapon Enchant +lightning dmg and gem +fire dmg stack, BUT will be be displayed as either all combined physical dmg (white) or physical dmg (white) + combined element dmg damage (Orange or Purple) dependant om wthe chosen elememts.
You can add an Oil and Dmg increase Rune on top, as long as you Stick to Physical + One of your existing Elements.
