It can be very frustrating to waste dozens of embers and still not get a desired enchantment - at this point, using embers is only feasible for changing negative enchantments on Corrupted items
If we could merge Fallen Embers with gems to turn them into Offensive/Defence/Focus/Health/Crit/Stamina Fallen Embers that roll for an enchantment in that category and doing the same for Sublime Embers so they improve what the player actually wants improved, making them work like Radiant Embers, would make this process much more satisfying.
There would still be a non-trivial amount of RNG in many cases - like a one out of twelve chance for a specific Offensive enchantment on a blue bow, for example
Eleanor could have a Merge menu for that where the player can slot in an Ember and a Gem, getting a preview on the effect

It’s a bit of a long topic but I think the solution I propose in many ways does what you are trying to achieve with your idea.
