I’d like to ask one more question, unrelated to the current topic. Are you planning to add a frame rate generator to the game? Although the recommended requirements list an RTX2060, my RTX4060 struggles to handle the game, and the frame rate sometimes drops significantly below 60 at 1080p, especially on large, beautiful panoramas. So I have to play with Smooth Motion enabled, which results in artifacts and higher input lag than the built-in frame rate generators in other games. Of course, this issue would be solved by improving optimization.
Tell me if it would be better to create a new topic for this question?
well there should be a DLSS or FSR option. And i know the dev team is constantly working on performance improvements. i can not really say however, how these performance improvements will exactly look like.
aside from that, there are a lot of suggestions and/or bug reports that are performance related. maybe you could search for your specific issue? there are some reports of artifacts and stuff like that, but i can’t really say which one fits your issue best.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find an answer to my question. Perhaps you misunderstood me; English isn’t my native language. I was referring to artifacts from the “Smooth Motion” frame rate generator, which is included in the NVIDIA app. It’s independent of the game, and these artifacts aren’t the game’s problem. But without this setting, my FPS can’t consistently stay at 60.
I just wanted to know if there are plans to add a frame rate generator to the game itself. I know about DLSS, I play with it on the “Quality” setting. FG is a slightly different tool. Or perhaps you plan to boost performance a little more before release? That would also solve the problem.
I can not really tell if your issue is a bug or technical issue. So i moved this to a new topic.
I am also not sure if frame gen would solve this.
Can you maybe record a short video of the issue, as it seems to be reproducible? you could upload it to youtube and share the link here. then maybe it gets a bit more clear what the actual issue and/or potential solutions would be.
@Silas-Inservio-Pax fyi: i could not find an exact match of this issue, maybe you know of a topic that fits?
I may have misrepresented the situation.
I played the game without “Smooth Motion,” with DLSS enabled in Quality mode and V-Sync enabled. With these settings, the frame rate generally remained at 60, but there was a sharp drop during transitions between locations and in some areas with panoramic views of the surroundings.
To improve the situation, I enabled the “Smooth Motion” feature, the one you sent a photo of. I also increased the screen refresh rate to 75 and got a completely stable 75 FPS.
This isn’t a problem, but rather a preface to the question. Are you planning to add a frame rate generator feature to the game itself, as has been implemented in many other games (Monster Hunter Wilds, Dragons Dogma 2, Diablo 4, and others)?
“Smooth motion” does help, but it’s a general feature and works differently in each game, and it’s usually worse than the frame generation feature built into the game itself, as in the projects I mentioned above.
For example, with MHWilds, the most demanding game in my library at the moment, I can play it at a perfect 60-75 frames per second (depending on my monitor’s refresh rate) precisely thanks to the game’s frame generation feature. It would be great to see this feature in your game too.
Understood! The way you titled your topic we took it as a bug report
If you could make it clear that you are asking for this feature in the title?
I also want to emphasize that this game should have no problems at all on a 4060.
I run on a RTX 2060 and i5, smoothly. I cap out intentionally at 60fps but hearing your account really makes me wonder what is happening at your system.
If you have no clue either, and you think this is related to NRFTW, please log a bug report including a few files listed here: How to Properly Report Bugs!
