Hardcore characters status loss after first log in with the new Together Patch 1

I had two of my hardcore characters losing the hardcore status after the first log with the new Together Patch 1 update.

It seems not to affect all the HC characters, some survived the initial log.

I can say for sure that the one that did not survive had some old Inn and Bed buffs from the previous release and they had some unspent Skill points.

Here Kardas was hardcore:

Hey Ivanhoe, what unfortunate!

Thanks for the report though, just to be clear; after logging and arriving at the main screen, the hardcore status was already removed?

No I clicked continue and it logged on the hardcore server. Then logged off and the HC status was gone. Not for all HC characters. I think it’s related to the old buffs or the fact that I had unspent skill points. Two characters gone this way. Not logging other characters (higher level) for now

This seems similar to Hardcore characters status loss after first log in with the new Together Patch 1

Reported same issues. My two characters had unspent skill points and the old inn and/or bed buffs. Other characters did not suffer the same fate and they did not have unspent points or buffs

Adding onto this – happened to me too! Level 25, pretty sad about that. I’m 100% sure I logged off in town while still hardcore, not my first login since the update (I logged on about 10 hours after the update news was posted, then just now) but now character is no longer. I wasn’t able to try to connect to my hc server, the character was non-hc on login.

Edit: There’s a potential workaround for people who only used a local server by manually changing some files. I’m going to try this myself:

Edit2: Unfortunately it didn’t work, worth a shot though.
