This happens with the “Predator or Prey” bounty Huntsman in the Orban Glades, the one with seemingly infinite poise. Like, I’m cool with dying from my actions. But getting knocked down usually means you have a quick window in which to roll, just barely before their follow up attack hits. For some reason with the Huntsman it seems to be actually impossible no matter your timing or spamming A. Feels frustrating and more like a bug, considering it’s the only time I’ve experienced where you’re completely helpless when knocked down. That’s just my take though, thank you.
I haven’t fought him in a bit but I know they changed the axe shove on most enemies to be less painful. Maybe he’s still messed up.
That would make a lot of sense, I would assume he’s a special offshoot of the axe enemies so it’s likely he accidentally didn’t receive the adjustment.
I haven’t seen any changes to the axe bash into guaranteed hit. It’s still the leading cause of my deaths to crucible knights.
I agree it does not feel good. Especially when I do a rune attack and they are in the middle of getting struck multiple times but are able to block, bash, then hit me.
Doesn’t feel fair when I am animation locked into that attack but they can turn it into a guaranteed hit.
It depends on the distance your character was on the push. I’ve had 50/50 odds of being hit by the follow up.
In regards to multi-hits where they still attack you, you’ll need to find a multi-hit that does higher poise damage. I haven’t been tracking the names but I know the runes I’ve been using have various poise breaks from, little, to situational like a shield break, to high poise and shield break. Knockdown Swirl is one of my favorites for 2 handers at 50 focus.
Well that’s another problem with this variant from the bounty in particular. It seems even massive 100 focus attacks from a 20 poise two handed axe don’t stun him, or any attack at all really.
I’ll have to try and fight him with one of my poise breaking weapons to see how that plays out.
I hate the push and guaranteed follow up. It would be fine if the push itself wouldn’t do (as much) damage, but as it is right now, it’s at least half of the HP bar gone from failing to dodge that push move they do.
