Gems do not affect the "Weight reduce" enchantment

Hello
While creating a build, I encountered an issue where Gems that “Enchantment power increased…” don’t affect all Enchantments, specifically the “Weight reduce” Enchantment.

According to the description, the gem should increase all enchantments by 40% if only 1 elemental gem is installed.
I think I’m doing everything correctly. The item has 1 gem slot and 1 elemental gem installed, respectively.

How does this work:

  1. I take an item without enchantments with a weight of 50 (first section on screenshot)
  2. I apply the “Weight reduce” Enchantment (10%) to an item with a Weight of 50. The resulting Weight is 45. Everything is correct. (second section on screenshot)
  3. I insert a Gem that should increase Enchantment power by 40%, meaning the “Weight reduce” should be 14%, and the resulting Weight should be 43. However, this doesn’t happen. The Weight remains 45. (third section on screenshot)

At the same time, these Gems affect “Focus Cost reduce” enchantments.

I’ve attached screenshots with the calculations.

Can you please tell me if this is a bug in the calculation formula? If so, I would be very grateful if you could fix it)))

p.s.

I specifically removed absolutely everything for the sake of the experiment’s purity. I don’t have any weapons, armor, rings. No even tools equipped)))

p.p.s.

I noticed the same problem with the durability increase enchantment.

Just out of curiosity, do any of your other pieces of gear have an elemental gem affixed to them?

This might be the culprit. I believe the bonus is only applied if this is the only elemental gem in your set? That’s my understanding of the description.

As you can see in the screenshot, only one piece of armor is equipped.
Furthermore, the description doesn’t indicate that the restriction applies to the set. As I understand it, it only applies to the item itself.

I understand. I can’t tell from the screenshot, do you have a weapon equipped?

The description isn’t clear as to wether or not it is specific to the piece of gear or the set. It says only elemental gem, since gear can only include one gem I would think it means across a set of equipped items. So if you only had ice related gems, it would work - that’s my understanding but I could be wrong.

Just throwing out ideas and asking questions. Good luck getting it resolved.

Anyway, thanks for your interest.
I’m curious about your opinion on how this mechanic should work. Like with “Weight reduce” — wouldn’t it stack, or would it be like with “Cost reduce” — would the stats be added together?

I think it should definitely be additive instead of multiplicative. So, 4 pieces of gear at +10% weight reduced would simply result in a +40% weight reduction. I would imagine anything beyond that formula would remove any need for weight load as a stat and be too powerful.

Good find Sil!

I will escalate this so Moon can look into it.

Silas

That’s how it works now. 4 items at 10% = -40% weight. But I wanted to maximize this stat not only with enchantments but also with gems.
In my current build, I use 3 chainmail pieces and 1 leather piece. To maintain a “Fast” weight class, I have to invest 19 points into “Equip load” and also use a ring “Equip load” +20%.
I’d like to save a couple of points and redistribute them into more useful stats.

Thank you very much for such a quick response!

I will look forward to your decision)))

My tests in the gear configuration planner show that elemental gems work on all gear.

I’m not sure how this works in-game,

but I trust the gear configuration planner’s results. Could this be a game bug?

I have also confirmed this doesn’t work with other Enchant increasing gems such as the low health at 100% does not double it to 20% as it should.

I sure hope this one and the Max Hp increase for 5% of max Focus gets fixed as well as that one has the same exact problem. Wouldn’t doubt that there are others not getting increase from these gems properly.

(Evidently, new users can’t embed two pictures, a gross oversight for someone trying to give feedback, so there isn’t a before picture)

So far, I have tried three different enchantment power gems. Full health, full focus, and only gem slotted. The easiest way for me to test this was the weight-reduced enchantment. If the gem was working as intended, the weight bar would have gone down further into fast as we would have seen a now 45% weight reduction. However, nothing has changed at all, no matter what gem I had slotted. Every other type of gem outside of the enchantment gems seems to work as intended.
