So when I jumped back into the game to try out The Breach update, hotfix #1 was already live so I cannot speak about the performance before that by experience.
First thing I noticed when trying out The Breach was the massive performance improvements, most notably the reduction in asset loading-related stutters and framerate. Before The Breach I would get hit with quite noticeable stuttering when traversing through the more taxing areas of the game, especially when moving into or out of Sacrament. The game could occasionally stutter when breaking destructibles like barrels, crates etc. or landing some elemental attacks or abilities on enemies.
Most of that was either massively alleviated or altogether fixed come The Breach hotfix #1. But something weird happened when I played hotfix #2. Some of that traversal stuttering came back, as well as noticeable fps drops in more taxing areas like Sacrament. My game will also once again stutter (although quite rarely) when landing just about any attack on usually larger enemies for some reason. Hotfix #3 didn’t revert these issues so I am left wondering if something optimization related was reverted to pre-Breach?
The memory leaks are also there by the way, been there even since hotfix #1. My performance is bound to get worse after a couple of hours of play and returning to the same areas.
My game is running on max quality settings, DLSS Quality, 1080p and my specs are these:
Nvidia RTX 3070 mobile, 8GB
AMD Ryzen 7 5800H
32 GB RAM, DDR4 3200MHz (16 & 16 Dual Channel)
Game is installed on NvME SSD
