For the first 30 hours the game ran without any problems, then it started crashing in to Windows when I tried to enchant an item, and now it crashes every time at every retailer.

If you have any more details about the crash that occurred when you enchanted an item, that would be helpful. Did you crash the moment you hit enchant? Did you end up getting the weapon enchanted, if so which enchants are on that weapon.
and now crashing at every retailer, is this on every interaction with a vendor? only while doing certain things?
