I also had 2 crashes in Lowland Meadows zone on LIVE, while just walking around or fighting, not when teleporting, not when entering the zone, one time the crash happened when the zone was also infected.
I do not have the logs for when that happened but I will report the crash logs in a new bug report the next time it happens.
I have a feeling that the crash issue is related to the “Sacra Surveyor” daily, I remember having this daily while the crashes happened in Lowland Meadows, and now when crash happened in Marin Woods I had the Surveryor daily for Marin Woods. I also noticed stutterings when the “Patrol Area” percentage updates, same stutterings I was getting whenever a city building project completed.
The game also stutters when pestilence bar is cleared and boss is summoned.
Alright so your pc should be more then capable to run the game, without crashing at the least.
I honestly have no direct clue. Windows 11 and an early-access game tend to result in some unexpected behaviour.
I can attest that Lowland Meadows is right now the most crash sensitive area, and optimization is still on-going.
You will have to troubleshoot on your own and hope to find the culprit.
Here are a few ideas what to fiddle with:
VSync on or off?
are you capping framerates?
have you ever done any under -or overclocking?
what upscaling method?
Dynamic Resolution Scaling on or off?
do you have multiple screens?
Turn of any overlays (Steam Overlay, Nvidia, etc). If you’re not convinced, disabling Steam Overlay directly solved a crash every now and then for me.
Let it known here as well if you find anything working for ya
Edit: jeesh its been a long evening, I’ve skipped over your thoughts what caused it.
Okay so if you suspect it’s a bounty or the patrol challenge, and you can do some testing into that direction I would highly appreciate it. Just another run through the same area’s without what you think made you crash is enough. Thank you
I’ve also escalated this topic into the proper channels.
I’ll try to move around in the new zones with my settings next time I get the bounty and let you know if I find any link between the two that can be reproduced.
Vsync is on, fps capped to 60, no upscale, no dynamic resolution, native 4k, no under/overclocking, no multiple screens nvidia overlay is disabled, but steam overlay is not.
I am streaming from the PC to the TV with Moonlight/Sunshine, and most of the time I play like this (including the times when it crashed)
Performance wise it runs at stable 60fps, the only performance drops are micro stutters that I noticed sometimes when: pestilence boss spawns, when a building project finishes, when a daily/weekly updates.
The crashes are not that often to make me to change any of the settings, I only reported this to let the team know that those 2 new zones may need to be further optimized.
Hi, I did the same run in Marin Woods with Pestilence Outbreak and with Sacra Surveyor bounty for Marin Woods (with same system settings) and it didn’t crash this time. So maybe it was a coincidence.
But, it is clear that the Marin Woods and Lowland Meadows zones have performance issues, given that I am getting micro stutterings on my system, especially if affected by the pestilence outbreak, as the stutters are more frequent then.
I did get random micro stutters when the sacra surveyor bounty was updating its percentage, I only noticed it happen in the 2 new zones.
I did notice micro stutters sometimes when the city building projects completed.
And I did notice micro stutters sometime when the pestilence boss spawned, after clearing the pestilence affected zone.
I also encountered a strange performance drop 2 random times when loading “The Black Trench”, the game suddenly started to run really bad and not only in the Black Trench zone but everywhere else as well if I teleported, and it only fixed itself when i quit to main menu. As I said it only happened 2 times and I didn’t notice it since.
In my opinions those 3 zones should be definitely checked for performance issues.
The pestilence outbreak effect should also be tuned down, or further optimized, because it causes performance drops.
