It is NOT just his problem, many others also think this. There is a reason it sparked many discussions on the forum as well as one of the largest and most upvoted topics on the forum.
→ [Moon Studio] What is the intended experience?
TLDR of the post: dissonance between the early game Soulslike elements vs the late game ARPG elements regarding combat. Which is preferred?
To simply state it is his problem is both foolish and shortsighted.
I would argue that in both cases it is chess, except that the builds that kill the Echo Knight in 2-5 minutes are those that obey the rules and etiquette of regular chess. Whereas the 14 second builds are akin to someone swiping all the opponents pieces of the board and declaring themselves the winner. Since it requires the same amount of skill…
If people want to play in such a manner they can do so, but then they shouldn’t talk about it as if its some kind of achievement or that it requires skill…
This is what Moon should aim for as a bench mark to be honest. The ‘‘best’’ builds clear it in 3 min whereas other builds can clear it in 5 minutes. There is no reason for builds to exist that kill the Echo Knight in under 2 min, in my opinion. The Soulslike elements from the game should remain in place with regard to bossfights - methodical and tactical combat. Whereas fighting trash mobs should feel like an ARPG.
