Feedback after story content (before Crucible)

Hi team,

Really love the game - this is going to be really special.

Some feedback from my experience after reaching the end of the early access story content:

(1) I feel as though I got railroaded into a specific weapon class due to not wanting to spend attribute points on stats where I wasn’t sure whether I would find them useful, but not finding weapons with stat requirements low enough for me to try other archetypes - I ended up using a strength two handed sword only and don’t really recall seeing other weapons that I could easily try to test

(2) Focus halved as a negative attribute on plagued gear seems a bit too punitive. I was wearing one or two pieces of focus halved gear and therefore had either no focus or 50 focus which was not enough to activate my focus abilities - therefore I effectively played without any interaction with the focus system and the associated runes

(3) Would like to have transmog for armor - with the randomness of loot I was always wearing wildly mismatched gear which I found interrupted or impeded the character fantasy that I was trying to have during my play sessions - my character always looked like such a mismatched vagrant in an environment where everyone else seems so deliberately designed

(4) With the degree of randomness in the loot during the story campaign, it seemed as though I was never really able to work towards a build during that phase of the game and a build would only be something that could be developed during the item farming that would happen in the endgame - this felt a little disappointing as it essentially sectioned off the creative side of gear use until a more grindy phase of the game.

(5) Related to point 4, the degree of randomness on gear feels too high - the chance of getting something you specifically want seems astronomically small and it’s unclear how this can be mitigated

On the positive side, the overall experience is fantastic. The combat feels great, the level design is easily the best in the isometric ARPG genre and feels more in the same league as the best soulslikes.

The survival/town building elements feel quite good.

Keep up the good work.
