Feedback after 200h in it

Hello,

First of all i would like to thank devs, for making this strangely addictive and yet fun to play a mix of different types of game, which i really enjoyed.
At first it felt weird, after a while it grown into me, and i can gladly say that i got hooked up by the gameplay which already been given on early access.

I`ve read many topics/suggestions out of the players, and i got really upset, that most of them trying to route this game into something horrible, no challenge, and flying numbers of damage around the screen, to be like same game we have already been fed up already. tbh, we(players that likes to hoon skills instead of running around pretending to be gods) don`t need another diablo type sequel, where the interest in game vanishes in couple hours.

Make it more souls like punishing for your mistakes, so it drives to be better.

As a matter of fact, most of the suggestions are poor, Lets say.:
*Get rid of stamina (which makes no sense to just spam skills for no reason. we have that on almost every other game.)
Double the zoom/ camera rotate (its not another mmorpg like l2 or any other, its different, it locks you in to stay focused and see the character actually moving his body instead of just flashy damage attacks.)
get rid of Parry (I`ve seen most topics about it, yet for me it took a while to get the timings, but its so satisfying to do it and i parry almost 90% of the attacks instead of dodge.
*
And the list goes on and on, just to get you closer to the point, to adjust the game for them to hop in and slay everything around… Nooo buddy, adjust yourself to the game. Let it punish you until you learned your lesson.

even after a while, game is not punishing enough, Bosses are too predictable, which makes it easy atm in ea on hardcore path of the unspoken. But i hope you guys would go more the souls-like path, than the boring hack and slash with no cost for mistakes.

its been years since i had such an enjoyment in a game in every close combat fight. (Ranged mages will never understand :D)
Wish you the best! Love the game, Keep up the good work!

I could go on with minor suggestions, but you probably already know most of them.

Take care of your masterpiece, i vote it to be huge !

Have you fought level 4 plague bosses? Did you find them easy and predictable as well?

This game has soulslike combat, but that doesn’t mean that his goal is to polish the ego of the git gud fart snifer people from the soulsborne community.

The goal of this game is to take every interesting part of rpg game and make an good set of what can please the biggest amount of player.

I don’t really know if OP is exaggerating or not, however…

If there are such requests of removing key friction principles that makes combat feel engaging … that is a big issue. Requests like “remove parry” or “remove stamina”, if they exist, would definitely be ridiculous and should not be taken seriously.

I haven’t really experienced the game yet other then the start of it a little bit, as I am waiting for release to play it… however I am concerned about balance in later stages based on the kind of videos I’ve seen even recently with certain builds that trivialize content and make combat pretty meaningless.

It would be extremely disappointing to see the game turn into some sort of PoE1/PoE2 lite in terms of combat and combat difficulty.

There is some truth to it. If you look at the patches that came after the breach they brought power creep with them. And currently Path of the Unspoken the highest difficulty is undertuned.

After this some much needed adjustments were made to bring down player power.
And there were complaints that you couldn’t 1 shot bosses anymore etc. I have even come across players who complained that the hardest difficulty was too hard, and they refused to lower the difficulty.

I don’t think there is a massive amount of requests like that, but there is some at least.

Back in the end of 2025 there was a post regarding kinda the same concerns (which I know see was made by you actually :innocent: ):

And we did get a response from Thomas on this:

So I really hope they still working towards this vision. Because if they are going trying to appeal for the largest amount of players, it will turn into PoE1/PoE2 lite which would be very sad.

The only differences between the regular version of a boss and the Plague 4 version are the arena they spawn in, the plague debuffs, and increased life and damage based on the zone level. Their attacks are still the same, so they’re predictable, and for a skilled player with a good build, the difficulty is easy to moderate.

Oh, I hope that’s not the case. I highly doubt that any great artist like Da Vinci created their masterpieces with the goal of pleasing as many plebs as possible.

I guess I am a bad player than since I found plague 4 bosses a lot more challenging.

They are more challenging, but not because they magically become more unpredictable. Once you actually learn their moves, they just become bigger sponges than the regular version, plus the plague debuffs, which might prolong the fight.

Well, I didn’t find them that much more resilient, in fact. They do have bigger health bars, but it was not hard to inflict big damage to them with good combos and advanced statuses. However, I did find them to be more challenging to dodge and they did, in fact, have different moves compared to regular bosses of the same type, in particular during the second phase when you damage them enough.

Part of the reason why dodging or parrying was harder was because the boss went off-screen and was attacking from there, though.
