Features for specific armor types (mage armor buff)

Right now, the real difference between cloth armor and plate armor is weight and protection amount. With current magic system, physical protection is actual for both warrior and mage, thus plate armor desirable not only for warrior, but for a mage as well. All the mage needs to do is to spend about 5 levels (about 15 points) into equip load and now they can wear plate armor, raising their defense from about 200 to about 900. In this situation cloth armor is always worse than plated.
It’s obvious that there must be another aspect in armor that will motivate mage to prefer cloth armor. 5 Levels is not that much, and you also can infuse plate armor with feathers.

I can’t tell yet but it feels like maybe certain affixes are more likely to roll on different armor types

Agreed, quickstep doesn’t seem any better than standard roll, certainly not enough to sacrifice 600+ def.

Coming here to show my support! This needs to be looked at.

Hmmm yes maybe cloth could have inherent focus regen, leather less stamina consumption, mesh and plate significantly more poise and defense
That all?

Well that isnt enough. Plate provides so much damage reduction. Simply adding focus and stamina on other armors isnt going to cut it.

Glass cannon builds should have huge damage/ability advantage compared to plate wearers to make a wearing cloth/leather feasible.

Currently there is only downsides to not wearing plate.

I think focus regen is a huge thing considering it is nerfed into the ground by the devs and it’s basically what makes mages independent of the whole melee focused game design

Stamina usage is probably less op but if high enough, you could basically attack non stop without ever having to fall back and recover which would also provide a different gameplay style and i think that’s what’s more important that pure damage

Damage in form of different gameplay
