There are weeks that I will be on NC (1630-2-3am). Just found out that his time are based on real time and unfortunately, I won’t be able to see him during that time on NC. Will there be a way to increase his visitation time. Can yall eventually extend his time from 8-mid night to maybe 8-4 am before new store reset.
No. I also wouldn’t recommend changing your system time, as this can cause some problems like him not showing up at all until it’s the date you changed it to.
tracking - realized that I didn’t request a way to fix this issue.
I think it would be a good idea if it showed up at the end of the IN GAME day instead of the real one, and also do the same for same for updating the inventory of other vendors.
That what I initially thought it was so every in-game time. Was going around his opening time before I was told that it was based on real time.
Yes, I find it strange that a game that has days in game only uses real days, then has mechanics that are linked to real hours and automatically exclude some players, who work or who are otherwise busy.
If I have two hours of free time each day of the week, I’m at an advantage over someone who has two days off a week. It doesn’t make much sense.
Agree with moving timers to in-game timers, not real-time. People are adults with responsibilities and different work arrangements, and they deserve to enjoy the game as much as any unmarried college boy who can play whenever.
Vendors in general feel pretty awful. They are outrageously expensive for how money starved the game is until you hit lv30 and farm for a long time, so you only start being able to stockpile and afford stuff only by the time you no longer need the items and resources.
They should have a base stock of all the essentials with a rotating optional stock that refreshes every 1-2 in-game hours. Preferably every hour.
Items should also sell for more. The economy in the game is extremely backloaded. It needs a smoother curve. Part of what would help is improving the bounty system and having chests give meaningful coin payouts on top, as chests also feel anemic at the moment.
That would pair up with Finley as his offerings and those of the Seneschal are also silly overpriced. 13 silver for a regular un-upgraded plagued item is dumb.
I believe it would be better if the game had a billboard in the town square where you can leave notes for other players aswell as issue challenges, bounties and issue an appointment to trade with Finley?
I imagine vendor spawns/event triggers to cause hiccups in some games when its tied to specific time trigger/event, So i would rather have it on a controlled timer![]()
If the spawn timer/trigger only repeat without clearing or destroying the data it generates its going to impact game performance to become slow and more bugs may appear at some point.
(I am not a game developer but i have created maps in warcraft long time ago and some other newer games with similar functions so i know the consequences of not clearing the timers data after the triggered action)
I’ve been lamenting this exact issue for a long time. The most vocal voices in the community that say ‘things can’t be too easy’, referring to adding more RNG to keep things difficult and grindy, do not realize a lot of gamers have actual jobs and things to do. I don’t come home from work for a 1 hour session where I lose and gain all my resources on a pointless gamble instead of an engaging experience.
I would like to point out that the difficulty in skill-based video games comes from the complexity of the decisions, the timing, and the duration of the actions that keep you under pressure.
Farming isn’t difficult; it takes time, and that’s fine if the time spent is rewarded fairly, but with the current implementation of RNG, this isn’t the case.
Absolutely agree.
