I would like to know what other players think about this idea:
The merchandise of the Blacksmith, Tailor and Carpenter rotate on a daily basis with regards to equipment and recipes. NOT resources such as Iron Ingots or equipment such as a Silver Pickaxe.
Potential Benefits:
- More immersion due to being able to see what’s in store today with these merchants similarly to the General Goods merchant. It makes Sacrament feel more vibrant and alive. I like seeing what Grinnich has in store everyday and buy rare materials across multiple realms.
- Right now you can buy endless versions of the armor the blacksmith sells and enchant them for the best enchants. If you have a particular roleplay idea and want your character to look a certain way. Your only option is to farm white items from mobs and chests. It would be cooler if items from several tiers rotated based upon the merchant shop’s level. Today he sells the Crestfallen Knight’s T2 helmet tomorrow some other helmet that I don’t care about.
- That sweet dopamine from spending all your in-game money on Crestfallen Knight Helmets and seeing the enchants you want rather than farming for several hours to find maybe one and get the worst enchant. To reiterate, it would be one of each, Helmet, Legs, Body, Gloves and Weapon for each tier respective to the shops level. So a T3 shop sells T1, T2 and T3.
- Being pleasantly surprised to see a merchant selling your favorite gear, like the Crestfallen Knight Helmet for example. Or a merchant selling a piece of equipment/recipe/weapon that you haven’t seen before.
- Being able to make multiple realms and find the merchandise you seek. BUT isn’t that scummy. NO I SAY. Finding higher tiers of equipment will still require investment of resources. And if players are willing to go to these lengths for gear, such as I don’t know let’s say a Crestfallen Knights Helmet. Then they should have the option to do so.
Happy to hear your feedback on this matter and which helmet is your favorite. I think mine is fairly obvious
The guy you save in the dungeon has nothing but rotating stock of armor and weapons, but he’s only there on Saturday
Looks like there are pieces of this game I still haven’t figured out yet. I have no vendor on Saturdays that I know of. Not sure who I rescued in a dungeon that would fit that? I also don’t recall the “Twins” that people speak of. Either I got through that fight too easily or I missed an optional boss.
The twins are the conjoined twins before the black Smith arguing over who’s scissors they are. You find the prisoner at the end of nameless pass.
Oh those twins. I keep hearing about a Twins boss.
The only Twins that you fight that I can think of is the Bounty in the Shallows. For me that was fun but not hard as others have been reporting.
I found the prisoner at the Nameless Pass but never released him. Better go work on that.
I assumed you where talking about the vendor. Also upgrading the general store in multiple worlds helps
…you really like the Crestfallen Knight Helmet, huh?
That aside, I think this could be useful but should also be a high-level, maybe even end-game functionality.
True, but when you purchase an item from his stock it then disappears from his stock. So you effectively only have a random chance once a week to get the item you want. I also noted that his stock was dependent on the level of the realm. I only see value in this if you have multiple realms and buy several weapons or items and then manually enchant them over randomly enchanting them.
There is the Riven Twins boss fight at the end of the nameless pass.
It fulfills my knight roleplay fantasy
I disagree with this. My main issue is , I would like to clear the game in my favorite armor and with my favorite weapons. If you run through an area you might not find the armor or weapon you are looking for.
So you farm and find your ideal weapon/armor. However, now you enchant it and get bad rolls. So you start over again. Now this wouldn’t be an issue if there were more enchanting options. There are various affixes we can’t get whilst manually adding gems. I do think once enchanting is expanded this might not be a necessary feature though. But, it would also require removing gems, runes etc.
Sounds good to me, I mean the general shop has rotations and I really love that so why not.

My problem with the idea is that technically you could use every armour in the game without the need for farming or even figthing to find it.
Usually the issue with this kind of thing is that they give a mean to the player to actively not play as intended and instead work towards a less exciting goal.
Complaints would switch from “My favourite armour isn’t dropping!” to “My favourite armour isn’t appearing in the shop!”, but the second option makes you less interested in going and farm for it and more incline to just wait until it appears in the shop.
Once you reach a high level or endgame, this kind of thing is much less impactful. You’ve already farmed enough. The need for absolute optimization on your things gets more important. So it’s fine to let the player buy any set of armour/weapon when needed (and with a bit of luck on the rotation) and it doesn’t impact the game as much.
Counterpoint, this is already the case since you can freely purchase gear from the blacksmith and tailor. There is no need to farm gear/weapons since you can use their gear. The exception here is, if you want to roleplay something.
They could change it so that once you purchase a piece of equipment it disappears from the merchants stock, like with the general goods. And have some recipes for standard gear, you would still have to farm resources. I think this could be a good compromise.
