Crucible fall of edges *needs* to be removed

What is this crazy take? Made me sign up just to reply.

"Yeah uh… You’re not playing the way that ‘i’ like to play, therefore you’re the problem! "
The video is flawless gameplay getting screwed up by a flawed mechanic and you’re trying to put the fault on the player, get outta here with that bs!

So the problem is not the falling off, its the auto lock on the fight, because with that i can agree, but i just repeated what you said, you fight ballsy, so you go all out to kill fast, and thats risky in a place where there are ledges.
I have a lot of issues with the autolock on this game, but none with the ledge falling, thats staple souls game, every dark souls people die a lot from falling of cliffs, and this game has a soulslike combat, with fall damage and chasms that instakill you.

I never said that, read it again, i said i play safe when near ledges and he said he played risky, high reward, kills fast but theres a risk of falling.
You play as you want to play, but every game out there has rules, and in this one you fight near ledges theres a risk, thats it, if you dont want to fall all the time get back and draw the enemy away from the ledge.

OP is right. I died , I think in the crucible arround 25 times from falling because of this stupid no ledge mechanic. I was using the rusty sword special attack, beucause of the input of the controller and the poor optimization of the game. When you press the buttons, the controller registers that press and sends it to the game , the game beeing a laggy mess nowadays, does the move but with delay, now immagine trying to combo that attack twice on an elite to stagger and the elite goes 2 inches backwards, you fall, you DIE! Because it registered the combo, but the elite moved, therefore, you did the combo twice, once on the elite, once on thin air. Simple as that. Happened to me 25 times, then I just quit the game and uninstalled. Feels like a fking chore to play this game, and its not fun dying like an imbecile to gravity. I played SOULS game, finished them all, I also played Elden Ring, never in my enitre life have I seen something so frustrating as the platforming in this game. Is just attrocious and badly implemented. This is not about being good at the game, this is bad optimization between the controller output and the game, bad optimization overall on the game, the stutters, the lag, the fps drops, everything adds up when you have a SCREEN FULL OF ENEMIES to kill, top that with the overuse of particles and the fact that we still dont have a way to optimize the graphical settings individually like normal games do, you get this. Hours of frustration. So I do believe the OP and I totally agree with him/her. Ill probably get back to this game in about a year or so, when it actually is FIXED. Now its just a buggy mess with nothing much to do.

I think the Crucible and only the Crucible should be more lenient with deaths from falling into the void.
Almost all the maps there are platforms suspended in the void and with enemies that push you it is very frustrating to have to die from this. I would try to put a respawn with half health at the moment of the fall.

Hard agree, the amount of runs ruined by a random push down the hole or killing an enemy too close to the edge is wild. Please make this less punishing, it doesn’t feel fair.

but plataforming is part of the challenge, if you don’t die to that, how you will learn to plataform or become better at movement at all?

Platforming is ok, I love the jumping and platforming in this game, but sometimes enemies get stuck near a ledge and you have to approach to kill them, in many cases making you drop due to your combo attack moving you too much forward.

It’d feel fairer if you respawn with limited health so you can continue the run.

you can always let the enemy aggro on you, or you know, understand your moveset.

Also they’re implementing a ledge safety for runeskills that move you forward or backwards in the ledge.

But at some point, that is on you to understand where to fight and positioning. Never dying because you spawn with half health is not a penalty enough, since you can just heal afterwards.

There’s a few times, specially in the crucible where enemies has gotten stuck in edges between bits of the map, makes it extra difficult for them to come to you as they are, well, stuck.

i moved this here, since this is being discussed for a while now. also we will get ledge protection. at least for some cases, see here: Breach Patch 1 Sneak Preview
