Reforge: Reroll three pieces of equipment of the same base type into a new piece of equipment of the same base type. For example, you have three Hunter’s Knives with different rarities and facets. You can reforge those three knives into a single new Hunter’s Knife with a random rarity and random facet. This allows you to chase specific item bases with a specific facet. For extra flavor, you could also have a very small chance to roll a Unique of the same base.
Transmute: Combine three of the same lower quality gems into a single higher quality gem. For example, if you have three Chipped Jade you can combine them into a single Mottled Jade. This allows you to exchange excess lower quality gems for higher quality ones. For extra flavor, you could also have secret recipes that create special gems.
Both of these functions could be put into the same UI option at the Enchanter or could be split up so Eleanor can Transmute items and Fillmore can Reforge items. You could also tie these advanced functions to Level 4 Building Projects for the Enchanter and Smithy if there are plans for further tiers for upgrading Sacrament.
