I’d like it to stay inactive for a few seconds after closing the chat window so that the conversation can resume immediately.
Hello user107,
Could you clarify a little bit more what it is you want to stay inactive?
The NPCs just stand there motionless after the conversation ends. After playing this game, I tried Stardew Valley, and that game made it easy to talk to NPCs.
Perhaps he means, suggesting for NPC to stay still for a few second (not turning around) after conversation end, to smooth next interaction if player decide to start conversation again.
I see two problems here, both were introduced when they added that NPCs turn towards you when they speak.
The first is that every time you finish talking to an NPC, they look in a different direction than the one they intended to walk in, then slowly turn in the right direction and walk.
The second is directly caused by the first: you have to wait for them to walk in the correct direction to interact with them again.
I believe this problem doesn’t occur with NPCs who are sitting or standing still, and it didn’t happen in the previous versions of the game when the NPCs didn’t turn in your direction.
Paradisotically, a feature that was introduced to improve immersion ruins it xD, it’s probably a bug, and it’s certainly not intended.
Hm I will ask Steve about that if you suspect it’s a bug!
Sounds like something that could be ironed out. Lombix_4 suggestions make sense. Hopefully cleaned up at some point.
