I just picked up the game and I have seen several posts related to controllers. When I get up from the game for some extended time (not long enough for the controller to have auto powered off), I come back and the game will not take input from the controller, and the only way to reconnect it is to exit to the main menu and re-enter the game.
connect the controller via cable. i have no issues using wired connection, i can tab in and out, and leave it for hours, no issues. windows is known for bluetooth connection issues with controllers.
yes, that inputs are not recognized anymore after a connection loss might be a game issue, but a few games have that actually. if keeping the controller connected with a cable does not help, maybe check your steam controller settings.
Make sure your primary screen hasn’t been deemphasized by some other program.
If some other program causes the mouse and keyboard to become active or another display to be moused over, your controller input will also not be registered as the game will be running in the background.
I use PS5 dual sense and have no issues.
I had to use DSX for a couple of games that had no native support, but you don’t want to use DSX with native support games because it can create double input.
Sorry you’re having this issue, I know playing wired is not feasible if you wanna play comfortable from bed or the sofa.
Try to see that your drivers are up to date.
Hello,
This is a common issue. One that I don’t believe is strictly linked to NRFTW, as I have this issue with many games.
We will look into it and see if something can be done on our end.
Thank you.
Hi, I really hope that something can be done about it. I only have this issue in this game and if I have to leave the PC for few minutes (I have little kids and often they need my attention also at night while I am playing), when I come back after 10minutes or so, the xbox series X controller is disconnected and only quitting to desktop solves it. Usually it is not that much of a deal as I start at the exact same spot I left after reentering the game (still annoying but it is ok) BUT what happened last time was more than annoying because when I had to leave the PC for few minutes I was in the middle of a crucible run in chamber 9 with perfect echo drops and when I quit the game and restarted it, I realised the crucible run was canceled and I was standing in front of Elsa outside the crucible again. So it seems crucible runs cannot be quit and resumed later, which is a pity in combination with the controller disconnect issue…
Also if the controller is not turned on before starting the game, I have to quit and restart too, as it will not be recognised after turning it on.
Again, this is the only game at which I experience this issue.
PS: I love the game
EDIT: controller cable connection is no option for me, I sit like 5 meters away from my 75" 4K TV.
EDIT 2: Steam controller settings are set to never turn the controller off
