A system that can be implemented to enhance Co-op play is the ability to aim attacks at your cursor or in the direction, similar to other top-view games. During a Co-op session with three of my friends, we find it particularly frustrating that lock-in forces your character automatically aim towards any enemies, which often results in hitting your teammates when trying to maximize damage. We find the friendly-fire system a unique challenge to deal with, which incentivizes new play styles for communication and teamplay on taking different roles. Yet, having the ability to precisely aim your attacks will definitely reduce the amount of time you attack your teammates by accident, as it allows you to angle your hit to only hit the enemies on the side without directly getting your teammate within the collateral damage. Although having played a lot of Souls-like games, the lock-on feature just feels difficult to utilize when there is friendly-fire, but that’s the only main issue I have with the Co-op combat. On a side tangent, as a keyboard player who loves having the key on “Shift” for sprinting and dodge rolling, there is a current bug where pressing it with a weapon will force you to do a parry before running, but removes the ability to roll. Thank you for your time!

You can turn off auto target in settings.
You can aim attacks at your cursor in the settings aswell but i guess you mean some other way like placing your shots or spells.
If you dont want to hit a teammate remember that your positioning of your character is key, if your mates are up front and taking aggro you want to position behind the enemy then your mates isnt in your line of attack if you are playing ranged.
