Checkpoint for Food Loss Prevention on Bosses

Please,

It’s exhausting, frustrating, and not fun to lose ALL your food trying to kill a boss, if u cant, you have to farm for hours to be able to face him again…Just because you don’t have good food!

I love the game and understand the farming and grinding for food …etc, but losing everything again and again vs a boss forces you to farm for food again for hours!!!. It doesn’t make sense to not be able to try a boss as many times as you need just because you don’t have food!
There are no refillable potions here like in Dark Souls where you can spend 20 hours on a boss if you want.

I don’t find this part fun or rewarding either.

I can almost accept the fact that you can’t travel between points, but this bosses wasting all your food to be forced farming… This system is going to put a lot of people off playing. And I include myself…

It’s not even easy to farm the food because the game upscales all the areas to the same danger level as you, and this scaling is broken. Mobs are massively tankier and deadly, eating up whatever healing resources you might farm up.

So people end up making new realms to go farm and never complete the story of the involved areas so that the areas don’t get upscaled and stay farmable.

A game forcing you to make new realms to having reasonable resource/farming economy just feels wrong. I made my one realm and feel attached to it and its development, why do I have to start the campaign anew in some other realm just to reasonably get resources and lessen the deep frustration with super low item slots by quickly farming plague ichor on a new realm with the first boss?

I can understand spending and collecting food in the open world. But against a big boss, you should respawn with all the food you had before entering so you can retry as many times as you want without losing that sustainable food farming. Because it leaves you at 0 even if you have 150 food across all types, and then what? How do you get that back? It’s a lot of wasted hours.

Bosses have a large hitbox, movement speed, and too much damage to run out of food so easily…

It’s just that the boss checkpoint revives you with the food you had so you can retry as much as you need until you get it without losing gameplay, and the rest of the open world will consume it if you get killed… It’s just an idea, but it would help with the problem of farming food for hours for nothing.

I feel like my time has been wasted.

I believe the reasoning is that it’s the game’s way of telling you you need to step back and go do something else and level and get better items and try again later.

But the problem is stepping back and doing something else is hard when the areas get upscaled, so mobs are super tanky and hit massively hard even on supposed lower level earlier story areas, and now you’re out of food and struggling on those areas and whatever food ingredients you get there will be spent healing yourself up because of the steep damage intake in the upscaled areas.

I really do think upscaling areas is a mistake, just leave them in their story level so people have a gradient of difficulty to farm and progress through before moving to the next step of difficulty.

What people are doing now is creating new realms, and that’s so lame. You shouldn’t have to cheese realm hopping to cope with farming or leveling.

I know it sounds like you have to go to another area or do something else, but the reality is I’m using my weapon at 12, which is the most I can get right now, and I’m also enchanted with ice and a full set of plates. Even though I have good damage and defense, I can’t kill boss without food… Now all I can do is get food and keep trying… (hours of farming FOR FOODDDD!! omg… That or watch a video on YouTube about the best weapons because the one I have doesn’t work…

I understand what you’re saying about the areas scaling. Maybe it makes it harder to farm faster. But those areas don’t kill me even once, and I can’t get past the boss I’m on…

That’s not bothering me, but changing the location of the large chests yes because it prevents me from getting Embers. Then you can’t upgrade your gear. And result on more absurd hours…

I’m in the endgame and I understand what you’re saying better. You consume food at the rate you collect it because the enemies are very strong, so there are still problems with food.

The system certainly doesn’t work well.

Edit: Other ex, if u wanna play rogue like mode, you need food too if you lost all food go to Farm Food Simulator again… I think bosses and rogue like mode must count like a checkpoint where you never lost food and can play all you want without this mandatory food. The fun is on combat, get better gear, craft etc… not on Farming Food simulator. If they do not want introduce the potion auto refill on death at least… i hope we can play Rogue Like and bosses without this deads hours looking for food… Nice game btw all this things can be balanced
