Bow target prioritisation and lock on distance

update

I think this comment can be ignored. I tested bow targeting on the training dummies and it felt great. I think the previous behaviour was due to human error and not being aware r3 could be used to switch targets (on steam deck).

I think bow targeting needs some attention, specifically, a) the distance at which the target drops and b) target prioritisation. While using a bow with a charged attack I’ve had the target drop during charge up, which I believe is due to distance from target. I’ve also had the lock-on priorise a nearby barrel over a guy with a sword.

My suggestions as I understand them are:

  • Increase the range that locked targets are retailed.
  • If enemies are in that range prioritise the closest enemy as the target (to avoid targeting objects).
  • Potentially lock a target as the default state and use a button to cycle to the next enemy in range.

I know about your update, but i have a question regarding this:

Where was the barrel and where was the enemy?

How are we supposed to change the target? I play on controller and I always locked on the closest enemy. It’s very annoying.

Click the right stick to toggle manual targeting mode, then flick it to switch between targets. You can tell you’re in auto-lock-on if the lock-on indicator is white, and in manual mode if it is red.

(Just flicking it also enters manual targeting mode if you’re in automatic.)

Thx! You’re a life saver!
