Wow, this weapon saved my mid game. Just by its move set and range. So, I’m not a parry timing guy, I hate it. And after a certain world level, enemies can crush your small and mid-shields, and tank your mage spells.
SOOO. From scrub to ELITE BOSS, my goodness is the halberd strong for mid game. Let me explain: the halberd move set is continuous (imagine a martial arts film), so if you tap attack, no matter how slow, the halberd won’t be interrupted, unlike swords claymores and clubs! Also, this holds true for the roll then attack move! and the range, omg the range!!!
If you are on a farming mission, the halberd can clear up to 7 barrels miles away from you. This serves as practice for what you can do to mobs.
I have literally rolled from half a screen away and landed an attack with the halberd! the key being the high interruption resistance, and stun. you roll and swing, the enemy hits you 3 times. your swing connects and interrupts the enemy’s 4th attack w a stun. you start another swing, the enemy winds up for a 5th attack, you interrupt and break his armor. the enemy is stunned. you start a third swing, the enemy is stunned and armor less, you connect, and the enemy screams a painful death cry! This weapon is broken!!!
Does the halberd have a unique name? Curious if I came across it before.
Yea, i haven’t used anything other than 1h swords and 2h, but in my recent play through, this Guard-crush stuff is exactly how my 2h sword (Summer Sting) functions.
Crucible is a bit ‘easy’ now… I don’t really have to respect much of the mobs at all except the Super Tall dude bros.
The boss fight is a FUN challenge too! Took me 4 tries with this new 2h, but I can finally beat him!
I was always wondering if there was another 2h weapon comparable to the sword (Summer Sting) I found in the Crucible.
Also, sadly, my build is prayer and str and Im quite certain its fully incompatible with Halberds cause… You Know stat lock nonsense!!! (Looking at you DEVs.)

I like quick weapons, not daggers though, the rust sword so far is my go to weapon for my fighter, and shield is really good once you can get those big numbers, blocks everything even the plague damage the Echo does, but my build is in no way ubber, like you it took a lot of effort to defeat that bastard, gear makes a lot of difference though, so does being level 30.
Didnt test the Halbert too, dont count on an easy respec, the devs said it will be costly, dont know what the cost will be, but i think people will find a way to farm whatever is needed for that.
Right now, there are only 2. the blue Regal Cleft Two Handed Halberd and the Serrated Cutter. I use the regal cleft w speed and agility rings, and i filled all 4 gem spots.
for scrubby mobs and farming, it is incredible. but truthfully i don’t know if it could make it in the crucible because i believe you would need a huge amount of poise and interruption resistance.
after going from 26-28, I noticed even the baby mobs are interrupting everything now, and pre cog on my halberd swing w a punish. although to get out of that I just dodge roll hit, followed by the consecutive swings.
sadly, I believe the halberd may break the ai, or the devs are listening, cause I got mobs jumping all over my halberd now, lol
