Switching between consumables when you have a lot of different ones in your inventory is frustrating, especially because they aren’t any particular order. Even just having similar items next to each other would be an improvement, ie. have oils/potions/meals next to each other instead of being random.
But a better solution imo would be to have a number of quickslots we can assign food and consumables to. This would prevent having to scroll past mushrooms and berries when looking for a particular meal, or leave stuff like repair powder and potions out if you only want to quickly use flasks for example.
This would add a tactical aspect where you have to choose which items you want to use beforehand (or get quick with swapping from the menu), and make using them more straightforward and enjoyable since you wouldn’t have to scroll through a dozen items to find the one you want.
