Lately I started decorating my house and checking out emotes. While they are pleasant to use and there is a use for them while idling inside the safe zone, usually there is not much use for them while you’re out in a field.
Since the first big update is going to let us play with friends and maybe some strangers, it would be super useful if we had a basic system for communicating with them.
While physical emotes are easily missed even with text notification, my suggestion is to add whistle-based commands.
They were already used in the military, and the only requirement would be learning which whistles mean what, and that shouldn’t be very hard to remember. For example, a few whistles (usually 4) in quick succession is a call to attention, one whistle is an order to advance, two is to stop, etc.
It gathers attention faster than emotes or text and could be a neat way to interact within the No Rest For the Wicked realm.
Also, for better accessibility, on the emote wheel, whistles could be represented by descriptions and also by dots and dashes that could appear above a character’s head if a certain option were chosen.
