[UserImposed] Revive Echo not working in Crucible

My brother and I am playing alot in the Crucible, but everytime we get the “revive on death” Echo, and we die, we do not come back to life. Are we misunderstading the Echo, or missing something…or is the echo bugged? It doesnt matter whether we get the grey revive, blue og epic Echo, eihter way it doesnt bring us back to life when we die.

Kind regards

Sune

Thx alot for the reply, always nice to know we are´nt doing anything wrong

Hey FoxMulder, thanks for the report!

There’s been more users who think it’s broken, but this is probably one of the few things we really need video evidence of.

If you are able to, can you make that happen?

Silas

I could surely try, but I really have no idea how to do it, I’m not very tech wise

Just curious, but could you tell me how the revive Echoes are meant to work?

Thx for the link Conrad. So If I am to correctly understand how the revive echoe currently works, then It works like this: I fight and get hit for more than my health, but It doesnt show me dying and coming back in an animation or some other indicator, I just fight on with the extra life percentage the revive echo gives me? That would explain why I didnt notice that I died and “came back” I would say that they definetly need to make a revive animation and give you a couple of seconds to get back into the action, or push you out to the pool, and let you enter it again. That would be a proper way of letting you know your echo is in effect.

Hello again Silas,

From what I have read on your forums, the revive echoes does trigger, but the issue is you rarely notice it. This, I believe, is because there is no graphic indication/sound or animation, and when it triggers you most often - in my case always it would seem- die instantly because the hit points the revive echo grants is´nt enough to prevent my death. From my perspective that´s probably why I/ we did´nt think it worked. My suggestion would be to make the use of the revive echo more obvious, an animation or sound, or maybe just make the player enter the fight again through the puddle in the lobby

I hope Konrad’s answer is sufficient, I couldn’t have said it better myself!

@Konrad good stuff, I’ll escalate this!

Silas

At the Crucible, the extra life doesn’t work. I played the whole time patiently, not dying a single time and taking it very slowly for one hour to make sure I won’t die. I took the buff to be able to revive on death 2x times to make sure I survive the final boss. Guess what? The final boss one shot me and the revives didn’t trigger ending my run instantly.

If you want to release the game this year, these kind of bugs can’t be in the game, it’s very surprising to me such game breaking bug is in the current state of the game.

I don’t know if the bug happened because the boss sent me flying off the map or because of some other reason. I have not tried to replicate the bug because I have uninstalled the game after that, I don’t want to spend my limited time with games that waste my time like that.

So I really hope you are going to fix this for 1.0

It’s not that it triggers but in some instances it’s just flat out doesn’t work. Like when you get pushed off the edge etc

Oh that is very much intended! Revive echo’s don’t absorp/prevent dying from falling  .

Silas

Is that a good idea? The boss can push you off the edge very easily even when not standing near it

I think that’s a very frustrating mechanic, also it does not explain it in the echo itself

I think it’s more about a logic pov. You can revive if your corpse is still there. But if you fall and disapear in the emptiness of oblivion where would you revive ?

Just climb back the cliff you fell off and revive back at the edge or revive at the bottom and then climb back to the edge of the cliff.

The Character can survive huge jumps into not so deep water in full heavy Armour easily. There are way bigger illogical things in the game.

And I don’t think anything justifies the frustration this brings to the game after being in the crucible for one hour

of course theres nothing that justifies the frustration this has brought to “your” experience of the game, because it was your own descisions and actions that led to spending that amount of time in the Crucible, in this case i think you should be asking for a “Rewind Button” not a better “Revive Option” ?

No, I’m just asking for echoes to work as they are suppose to

This is turning into a feedback loop.

Closing this now.
