I had 2 respawn upgrades (25% and 50%) but I didn’t respawn after death to the final boss.
Unless it’s bugged in a different way, tha it works but there’s some combination of these:
- no proper animation (I didn’t fall down and get up)
- no invincibility period
- No HUD indication that I died
I’m also wondering: if I have both resurrect upgrades, do I get 2 resurrections or only 1?
Hi, if you have 2 then they proc separately so you can “die” two times. There is no indication of it proccing, besides icon disappearing as far as I know. So it’s possible it procced, you got to 25% hp or 50% and boss just attacked again (or two more times) and killed you.
Yeah this can definitely happen. There really needs to be better feedback to the player around this mechanic. As is, you get hit and don’t die, with nothing really telling you something happened. If the killing blow staggers you, the follow up can basically eat your resurrection. You should really die and respawn with a short invincibility window or something, so you can get your bearings straight. Or you die and get a prompt to resurrect so you can wait for a safe time to do so. I would expect your focus and buffs to reset as well like it would in a real death.
All that being said, there have been numerous occasions where it seemed like the resurrect did not work. Because of a lack of feedback, it can be hard to know if it’s a true bug or if the resurrect got consumed on something you thought you barely survived.
I guess that this happened then.
I think the way it currently works (if it indeed does) is simply unacceptable. It should be more clear, and it should be a reasonably safe restart (boss de-aggroes while you’re dead, a small moment of invincibility)
You are absolutely right about this being unreasonable, but there are going to be people telling you this is fair and you need to ‘git gud’ even though the issue is not about skill but about a stated ability working incorrectly.

In my case, the boss smacked me 3 times in a row, and I was stunlocked the entire time. I spammed dodge roll like a maniac but literally nothing happened.
So while the first hit (presumably also the first death) was a skill issue, skill had zero impact on the subsequent 2 hits/deaths.
Btw I now see how it looks like I didn’t die 3 times. It just looked like he hit 50% of my life, then another 25% and then the last 25%. But in reality, he probably hit for 150% of my life 3 times in a row
