hey. i understand your concerns, but i would appreciate if these long discussions about the game’s state were moved to separate threads, so people can see more of the news without the long replies clogging it up. thanks in advance.
Hi, can you dedicate someone to monitor Steam forums, there’s really negative atmosphere forming towards the game as not everyone is following updates here or on discord. I really hate to see this game being called a scam !!! So please just dedicate someone there to reassure impatient people that updates are coming. Thanks.
Yeah the plague spreading is the only thing worrying me, there was a rumor this would run even if you didnt play the game, which is not good in my book, i dont care for these kind of live service game BS where the devs try to play with my anxiety, so i hope this is only a rumor and nothing more.
i agree with this. the question is just what does the team want? do they want a game where everyone logs in 3 days a time for 5 mins each to start building A, accepting quest B and collecting crafted weapon X, or do they want that people log in and spent 4h in a row.
all these real life times got me a bit worried from day one. the rare merchant only showing up saturdays from x to y kind of set a uncomfortable tone for me. i actually went to him ONCE. and the i was like “nah, thats def. not worth my saturday afternoon”.
it brings up the question: does the game reward it less when i only have 1 day to play but 4h in a row compared to being able to play every day for 15 mins?
all these get x quests per day games like genshin etc. kept me hooked for like a week, and then it was a chore to log back in. i do not always have the time, so for me 4h in a row should be on par with 4h spread over a week. we all have lives to live, and in the end it is rarely the game that wins that battle.
I think that kind of things could be able to switch on-off within Realm settings. But I am just guessing. Understand the intention of giving a real feel to the realm, time there passes also, etc…
They just have to bring some balance to players who can’t be available 24/7. It is just a mechanic to bring fun to the game, not like you are going to lost your house or progress anyways.
there’ll be a ~2 minute teaser this week, “unless hell freezes over.”
that teaser will announce the date for the next Wicked Inside
Wicked Inside is an event where the developers talk about the game and the stuff they’ve been working on, as well as allowing streamers to play the update early
the update will come out “shortly after” the Wicked Inside event.
this is a piece of news im actually stoked to have, i thought theyd release it a few millenia after wicked inside 2. but it looks like late march / early april is solid ground to stand on.
I think it all depends on the legal issues that were hampering them before right? When the green light is given be the lawyers at take Two the devs can start to release everything.
As much as we were anxious to play more, this forced time they expend cooking the game gave the devs time to rest too, i hope they did at least that, no more crunch, bad practice all around, and gamers should understand that, whats a few more months?
For the love of god its fine to listen to feedback, its not fine to try and catter to every feedback though, keep your vision of the game or else it will be a mess trying to please every little wish.
I have seen players asking to remove the stamina bar, asking to have guns as weapons since theres explosive barrels in the game, you guys are gonna expend a lot of time trying to do all of this, at least the roadmap will keep you on, well, the road.
just to clarify since u replied to my post, but surely mean to speak to the team: i am just a moderator here, trying to share information between discord and here.
that being said, i actually agree with the teams decision to not share a roadmap. having a roadmap that announced multiplayer as 2nd update and then releasing crucible first already caused quite the stir. people are outraged and disappointed and call the game a scam because this was not followed as hinted months ago. so i can 100% agree with the negative downsides of a roadmap.
on the other hand i am just a engaged player as well. so i would like to at least see what the team is working on. it does NOT have to be “on may 1st we will release map ABC”, but at least give us “hey we want to implement X and Y before release and hope to update AB next”
so a rough plan would suffice, but i can also see how people could then again cry about “but u once said u will release AB next and we still did not get it”.
its a slippery slope, and i am one to trust the process. maybe because i know from experience how things like that are planned but work out differently in the end. the average player might not see it that way tho and demand what was promised yesterday. u catch my drift.
