Agreed. I ended up crafting some weapons to extract their default rune for other weapons for which this would be really helpful rather than remembering.

Absolutely agree. I suspect they will do this anyway, probably some ui elements where just not ready yet in time for the beta.

For reference, here is how it looks now:

And you cannot see at all what basic rune is on the weapon.
