Since you’ve mentioned the Necromancer and Reaper classes, have you considered adjusting the skin tone of characters who choose these classes to better match the dark tone they represent? For example, using paler color schemes, maybe with subtle signs of decay or other details that visually show the character has embraced something unnatural. Done with style, of course but I think the idea is clear.
This also ties into another point: given how beautiful the game’s graphics are, it would be amazing to have the ability to dye clothing in darker tones blacks, dark greens, and similar shades. The game already has such a strong visual impact: walking through the rain with a staff triggers an animation that already feels so evil and sinister. Now imagine that same scene with a class like Reaper, dressed in dark armor, robes, cloaks, hoods, capes…
I’ve picked a few reference images from around the web to help visualize the style I’m talking about. Just imagine those outfit styles within the existing environments of the game under the rain, at night, in storms with lightning flashing… it can’t get any darker, and I mean that in the best possible way.
Especially considering the helms in No Rest for the Wicked, which I find very original not the usual RPG designs. They’re often tall, exotic, strange in shape. I’ve even included one image of a knight that could represent a Reaper, just as an example of what I envision.
I just wanted to share a thought, nothing more. Any ideas you might have are definitely interesting to hear, but you have to admit the weather and visual effects in this game could be used beautifully with a rich and varied wardrobe
Honestly, I believe the game has a ton of visual potential thanks to its engine and art direction.
What do you think?
