Scroll in mouse on Linux dont work

So Im using CachyOS (based on Arch) and scroll in mouse dont work. Its work outside of game and in other steam games.

Hi Majber,

Do you mean you cannot scroll through menu’s, or zoom in/out in the game?

Silas

Yes, basicly using scroll in mouse do nothing. Cant scroll in menu/settings, in map, cant change consumables using scroll.

I’m also using linux and have the exact same issue with the mouse scroll. For me I can get it to work after alt-tabbing from the game to the desktop for a couple of times. Hope this helps a bit.

I suspect the game thinks you’re on a handheld(SteamDeck, Ally, Legion, etc.) and that’s because of Proton that is also developed by the same guys that holds the blame for the current state of Linux gaming.

So the way to try and work around that are few,

1st thing is to try and “Disable Steam Input”

2nd is to try and “tell” Proton that you are actually on a PC by adding this command to the launch options of the game

SteamDeck=0 %command%

If none of the above works, try and install ProtonGE, and set it as a compatibility layer for NRFTW.
