What is the point of having 10k damage in precision combat?
I thought it should be skill that matters, but it is just another 1 button smasher. I don’t like it at all, to be honest, it’s just another PoE and any other ARPG.
In co-op is even worse, if you are a bit weaker, you never hit the enemy since others can just one-shot everything. I really hope this is not intended, for game this good and enemies that well made, it is complete shame to not battle vs them as it should be.
Hopefully we see some balance to those OP builds. To any weapon, it doesn’t matter.
There are some very strong builds. I think some things stand out, like the rings which let you use health instead of focus combined with lifesteal making rune attacks infinitely spammable. However, even without these super strong builds, just about all of my builds that are fully fleshed out no longer fear death. They make the game super easy even on the hardest difficulty. I definitely crave something challenging for these builds. As a power fantasy it is fun and feels rewarding for the effort it takes to get there, but that kind of power is only fulfilling in the short term, at least for me. That said, the leveling experience has always been challenging for me, which is why I have so many characters now. I need to go back to being challenged from time to time, so just start a new toon. I don’t think that’s the norm though since all of my friends who play only have one character and have basically quit after making one effective build.
I’d rather they smooth out the curve where it’s pretty miserable the first 18 levels, OK to reasonably strong lv’s 18-29, rough at 30 when mobs upscale but you don’t have endgame upgrades until you get enough upgrades and embers to finish a build and then become god.
I’ll happily trade player damage if they nerf enemy damage to not 3 shot through 50% physical DR and the prison witches or any elemental ranged mob attacks don’t shave off 1/3 of your 300 hp while they’re spam teleporting around since the overbuffing of poise.
And poise needs to be nerfed for enemies and buffed for the player. Those prisoner witches should be interruptible if I reach them in melee, but currently they just stand and facetank two 2H hammer hits or any other weapon while chain casting spells that take off 1/3 your health if you’re not in plate with maxed out elemental resists.
In this game you’re in a constant state of one shot the enemy or they one shot/stunlock you in groups/echo knight swings taking 2/3 health through 50% DR. That needs to stop.
Combat damage dealt and taken needs to be way less spiky and mob poise should be realistically breakable, not like the current state where by the time you’re close to breaking enemy poise they’re half dead or even dead already.
I agree with all the points, problem can be solved in few ways. It would be awful if that happens throughout the whole game on release, it will kill the joy of intended playing.
I don’t have OP build, nor i will use any of the builds people are putting on the internet, i am making my own, like in the “old” times. But seeing what is going on now, i really hope they look into it and make the changes so gameplay can shine.
Every single one who made the build by looking for them on the internet stopped playing, once they are OP. Every single one. They did it to themselves, and it is what it is, different kind of playing than what i do.
It is becoming easy at the end, even with my mediocre build, 90% of the map is too easy. Marine woods has some challenge, but that’s it, for level 30. Enemies should scale better.
We’ll see, i just don’t want the game to perish into oblivion. I want it to thrive, and the combat is what is keeping people playing. Once everybody can one-shot Crucible lvl 10 boss, it will be done.
Of course, we need to wait for release, but all of this is important feedback, if developers even read this.
I’ve written quite a few feedbacks, but i have no clue if any of it is acknowledged at all. They could chime in from time to time to let us know they are at least reading.
