Review after finishing the game thrice

Dear Moon-Studio´s,

I´ve been playing Wicked from the first EA-release, and am about 120hrs into the coop update, so I thought, it might be time to give you some feedback, after finishing up the game. You have created an amazing game and I am looking forward to the coming releases and DLC´s!

Ember System:

  • It´s a delight and makes the Item Drops really valuable

Lvl-ing and difficulty:

  • The game got harder, and I love it. I am happy you took that route, and am only missing, as many others, more late game content (I know EA, it´s fine at the 30-40hrs from 0 to hero)
  • Upgrades and Itemization blend in well, most weapons blend in smooth and are amazing to play
  • Replayability is amazing, the game just sucks you in
  • Fall damag: Pls keep it the way it is! It makes the game special, you need to learn the areas and jumps, and later on you know your limits, pls don´t get sucked in by the people telling you, it is so frustrating to die from falling, because it is absolutely fine!
  • Bounties: It would be amazing, if they had a tier System like the vendors, because early on you are stuck with 5 weekly, and it would be wonderfully amazing, if you could futher those, or refresh them in some way (like building a small wooden cabin at Danos for poor Randolph)
  • Healing and Food: Feels gret now, aver all stages. I love the idea, that you “eat your dumplings to become big and strong”, as the deTerminator Arnulfo the first would say

Lategame and builds:

  • Echoes fall off pretty soon in difficulty, and it would be amazing, if you could spice your echo-run, like you can the pestillence, by burning sth (maybe I´ve missed sth?)

Pestillence runs change everything, your builds get tested and there are some things I want to criticize:

  • versatility: Maybe an EA-problem, but there are only a few weapons and Runes that feel endgame viable, mostly because of dmg scaling. I guess you wanted to have different weapons of the same type with different dmg, which is kind of wierd, because everything else scales relatively even, though it is fine the way it is
  • Defense: there is like the 1 go-to Modifier “dmg-res on durability”. I tried them all, and full Pestillence you are either a 2 hit, or immortal with dmg res, which makes elemental and physical resistance useless modifiers
  • Low-life: Ok, first build to run full content was a low life, and it felt amazing. You craft and grind there, and then you oneshot yourself through the world. Yet again, the downside should be punished, being a one or at least a two hit. But the scaling of double defense makes lowlife build tankier than full-focus builds, which is wierd
  • Armor: Plate is´nt worth it. It´s sooooo many Attribute Points, for being incredibly slow, to tanking just a bit more. You still get staggered if you block everything, and you still need to dodge, and you cant really run out of danger zones. Maybe that is intended, but it´s also in the category, a bit wierd. (maybe you just block yourself from lightweight and you only need a reasonable amount of equip load to be medium) though I know, it´s gonna change with the new class system

Pls don´t regard this as negative feedback, those were just my “feelings” on the endgame, it is overall still amazing, I am mostly criticizing the versatility later on (and again, probably an EA-thing)

Storage:

  • tooooooooo few space in houses, espacially in coop. It would be amazing to have the ability to build a cellar in your house(s).
  • Shared chests are amazing, and kill you without a good system… you can´t find your gems at Elleanor for example, because all the gems are shown 2 to 3 times…

Farming and grinding:

  • Fishing poles die fast. It´s ok because repair powder is cheap, but wierd again, because your other gear just does´nt loose that much durability. By the way, why do you loose durability from farming? You don´t loose durability on hitting a shield either (or maybe you do and I never noticed?)
  • Overall the new farming System is pretty great and I am looking forward to enchants, and am curious, why I can unlock two more tool slots

In the end, a last suggestion on the game: Maybe bring in a Roguelike-Realm possibility, where you can only run every area once, with higher droprates and real death on death (like a tweaked hardcore realm), but the character is bound to the realm, and all vendors are fully developed, but you can´t store items. Just a suggestion for players like me, to have fun till the next release.

Overall it is the best game I have played in years and I am happily looking forward to the future of Wicked!
