Research function does not always work properly

Random research option does not function. Once chosen nothing unlocks. Only encountered items can be researched.

Whatever if it’s at my scribe table or Danos one, the random research don’t work anymore.

I have more than enough ticket but when I try to make a random research, it don’t do anything.
It’s very frustrating, I’m addict to this game and I have to deal with two anoying bugs now (with the utility rune bug).

Is anyone have the same problem ?

Found another thing about this bug. It also prevents you from researching new things at the scribe table :wink:

I can research with other characters fine, so yeah this bug corrupts your character :wink:

I also cant research new things at the table! Another reason I just chalked it up to a corrupted character.

I have exactly the same problem and I’m starting to accumulate a huge number of tickets that I can no longer use ^^

I also face this issue. Unfortunately I cannot say for how long it already persists, since i only noticed it today..

For me its currently:

  1. Only a single character is affected
  2. As a player I realm-hop quite a lot - not sure if that might have caused this issue at some point. I do a lot of hopping with all my characters though
  3. This character cant research new recipes on any realm using the random function (tried on 2 - an online and an offline realm. Both have the main story finished), since i use it as my main crafter
  4. This character has learned the most recipes of all my characters by far, but is still missing quite a few (mostly in the structures → others section)

What I tried ingame so far:

  1. Removing the research desk from the house, since placing one might cause this issue (for me it used to work all the time - even after the placement was done)
  2. Placing the research table in another house
  3. Picking up the table with a different character and place it again
  4. Using a novice scribing table in the house instead

What I tried outside of the game so far:

  1. Verify steam files
  2. Renaming “AppData\LocalLow\Moon Studios\NoRestForTheWicked\DataStore”
  3. Checking the log file while the event is happening/triggered → no new entries were written :frowning:

What still works:

  1. Learning recipes that have already been unlocked but not learned yet
  2. This is also true, if the item is newly found or crafted by a different character after the issue appeared (only tested the 2nd part to be honest)

At least for my character, it seems the issue was fixed. Didnt use it in a while, since i didnt wanna risk still fully using a potentially bricked character. So not sure, if it was patch 1 that fixed it, but its very likely - but it works now again :slight_smile:
