Refined First Impressions (Updated As We Go)

  1. RoD can’t be exalted.
  2. Molten Clutch has a new moveset.
  3. Uniques are properly exalted.
  4. Runes stack.

Update:

RoD nerfs did NOTHING. If anything, it’s stronger now with the heal rune

Nith Grovebinders have improved. Still missing the knee and uppercut on large Glomkins

Ledge protection does not work on bows charged shot kick-back. Arguably the one place it SHOULD work

Execute infected affix seemingly causes the %health gain from kills not to trigger. Similar to what happens if the mobs die to burn damage or fall damage.

Stamina changes have affected nearly all builds. Stamina management is definitely a problem after the changes.

Stamina cost reduction gems do not affect bow shots.

Certain attacks in the moveset string register as rune attacks, depleting your entire focus especially when 100% focus loss debuff is applied in Plagued areas.

Infected Enemy Execute affix now totally negates the returns from affixes and echoes that are supposed to give your %DMG/Heal/Focus per kill. This is now confirmed.

In the Crucible room when enemy descend down by an elevator, sometime they land on top of the cage and if you do not have ranged means to kill or shove them down, your run is effectively over.

On top of those issues, I’d like to add:

Wonky Input

  • Input delay not considered I’d say (couple of ms on wireless controllers, but you could also say the poly-rhythm tech-death guy (me) is bad at timing)
  • Ore Farming Perfect strike is when pickaxe reaches ore, not on the actual end impact (when the sound happens)
  • Perfect strike point also seems to fluctuate quite a bit. Might be because the resource is sometimes further away or closer, but the internal perfect strike moment stays the same, which results in this “there’s something off” feeling
  • Best for farming would probably a bar with an indicator slider (0:54). for the immersive folks that can be toggled off
  • My issue is (woddcuting e.g.) that you have to press short before the actual impact, so with the DUMM sound you have to press earlier, like a Ba-DUMM instead of just at the DUMM… and my guess is that happens to every quick time based mechanic (ESPECIALLY DODGE)
  • I get the best results on dig spots but that also varies, not just as much as the others

Utility Arm is a step back

  • new heal makes food obsolete, when it shouldn’t and is useless on respawn without food bc it requires focus, and you don’t get focus on respawn, meaning a boss or a tough fight still leaves you with no heals in the worst case scenario ( it’s kinda like fromsoft accidentally really struck gold…)
  • Also now we can only have 4 Utility Runes. You could’ve just given shield Rune slots and added a tutorial for slotting the heal rune into your shield/weapon on the beach when you talk to your dying friend

Whispers

  • Return Rune item Value on Whsiper Offering not applying (0.5 instead of 30)
  • Using Whispers within Sacrament should put the Return to Last Whisper on top
  • Why not use Minimap for Whisper Selection? I’d imagine creating the current clunky menu was more effort than to add extra values to portal icons on the minimap and setting some flags

Oldies but Goldies

  • Fallen Ember still not in the consumables tab
  • Weapon Requirements still exist on higher tier drops (especially painful on originally no req weapons)
  • Compare Button on Sell missing (Compare to know if sell makes sense)
  • Full List of Enchantments is a half outdated mess
  • Regenerate Focus/Health Gems still useless?
  • Please remove the sub 10 copper drops from loot tables

i don’t think focus should be on fixing random google sheets, but to build an actual ingame codex, which will come at some point, so i guess we just have to wait.

yes and in the meantime you still don’t neglect what’s currently in place.

I agree that shields should have runes but, not all builds use a shield and it is better to have the utility runes directly on the character, (obviously they must be balanced)
