I saw the recent breach announcement trailer, and because I loved the game early in its release in spite of its flaws, I wanted to see if it’d be worth coming back to.
One of my biggest gripes with the early game, which looks to be a continued issue, is that Faith, Intelligence, Strength, and Dexterity are meaningless stats in the game that offer you nothing. Each weapon type seems to have a scaling option for whatever arbitrary colored symbols you’ve invested in. Why even have them?
If dexterity improved dodge then that would guide players into a role, intelligence improved focus regen, strength improved carry weight for heavy armor, etc etc.
Because you’re not locked out of certain weapons and all weapons have heavy cross over in runes and their function, I don’t see the incentive to level strength as opposed to intelligence. Furthermore, because intelligence/faith doesn’t improve any element of “casting” or select for certain runes or weapons’ with gameplay defining unique traits, I might as well be a strength “wizard”
Am I the only one that finds these stats to be arbitrary and really mundane?
