Finley needs to spawn everyday at specific times if need be like at night ingame time. To have to rely on your computers PC time and only one day out of the weak is just…very bad for the rolls it offers for how long you need to wait.
This means the only two work around is to exploit PC time or make multiple realms to get multiple chances on saturdays (if you want to play legit) to get weapons you like and can’t craft but has terrible rng drop rates…
There needs to be a better alternative than these two.
Or like every basic tier 1-3 weapon in the early access should be made craftable…idk. there needs to be a better way.
I’m 22 hours in and I only have one complaint. It feels bad to free a character in game and then have to worry about what day of the week it is in real life to utilize the in game benefits.
Another example of time based content I dislike would be similar to diablo4s world boss spawn timer. I find these things very immersion breaking and annoying.
I want to get lost in this beautiful world please don’t make me think about it as a schedule.
I would like to suggest that Finely’s Shop be open for the entirety of Saturdays. I understand that it is supposed to be limited time only. But I know not everyone has those exact four hours available on Saturdays. They might have work every weekend, kids sporting events, family events, etc. I don’t think it’s fair that some people will never even get to look at his inventory. Please extend the hours of the shop or at least have him open the 4 hours in the morning and then another 4 hours in the evening. Maybe the 4 hours in the evening are on a different day of the week. I just know that by limiting it to those 4 hours only on a single day, MANY people are going to be missing this shop every week.
He’s actually up for 16 hours. Reading the sign first time I got the impression it’s 4 as well.
For what he’s offering once a week doesn’t really cut it though. Would rather he showed up once an in game week, which would be every 21 hours. Need to show weekday in game then though.
that’s helpful, it’s really weird that they would word it one way but actually put him in game differently. I’ll have to check when i get off work on Saturday to see if he’s up.
ok so I work Saturdays from 9am until 4pm. does that make me ineligible for Finley? I refuse to change my pc time, and it won’t work anyway because i cloud game and it’s not my pc.
I thought Finley might be based on each time zone at night or day in game, but this hurts. can we commit to a utc time that is compatible to gaming, like say 12am to 7pm utc, which in central standard time is 1pm saturday to 6am sunday, lol
Finley needs some adjustements. last saturday he did not appear in any of my realms where i saved him.
There really should be more options to buy from him. i don’t know, make it 2 days of the week, and 24h per day, so everyone, no matter which time zone has a chance to find him.
or leave it as is with saturdays, but make him spawn in randomly on other days of the week too.

Finley and his Saturday spawn times or him not spawning at all have been adressed/mentioned here multiple times, also the “change PC time exploit” to refresh vendor inventories, but i haven’t found a topic with a concrete suggestion on how to fix it. (feel free to close this and link it somewhere, where it has already been suggested)

Or to balance him and make him more rare change it to XY ingame days or whatever. I just feel the real time restriction is really bad for some people, who basically will never see him due to work/shifts and other real life reasons. Games should inclusive, nut require you to set an alarm clock and log in just to find finley not spawning anyways or just having junk items.
Yes, however 7 ingame days feel still quite a lot. I was actually a little underwhelmed from his stock… Imho, it would be ok if there was no (the same as for others) special timing issue at all.
Much easier to stack items from the smith and enchant them to get something useful.
Or… massively improve his stock… but that would reduce the value of boss drops.
If anything with a timer… why not sending him on a mission… something like. Get me some gloves with health regen. and after 1-7 ingame days he comes back with 3-5 items to choose 1 from.

I really love this idea. Reminds me of Dark Souls 3 and the Thieve u rescue there.
it could also cost something to send him away. Like he only goes if you give him XY Silver. After all he probably takes risks and u might not buy anything when he comes back.
I am not a fan of gambling mechanics. The enchantments and infusion rolls are already a gamble.
And story wise it would make no sense for him to always be there, since he said he goes scavenging. So him only appearing in certain intervals is fine, just the spawn interval being bound to real time/date is unfair for some players.
And the inventory refresh for vendors currently gets exploited by changing the PC date/time, which could also be fixed if it would be refreshing after X ingame days instead of real days.
Yeah his stock is crap sometimes, i dont know whats the deal with him, i dont mind the whole saturday only vendor, but i would like to know from the devs if Finley is tied somehow to us.
He says he travels the realms, he also mentions he loots corpses, maybe thats why he only shows up on saturdays, his inventory must be a pool of our collective inventory, of all players on that week, who died.
Just me guessing of course hehehe.
My preferred fix for this is how Ubisoft does it: just have the actual inentory refresh once a week, rather than having the guy only show up once a week.
NEVER do something forcing players in a single player game to potentially shuffle their RL schedule to match some silly game’s NPC; in this case one available few hours per week
bad ideas instantly lead to people trying to workaround it outside the game with manual clock adjustments, potentially damaging their saves depending on how the game handles real time jumping forwards or backwards
IF for some reason you desperately want him to disappear for a bit, spawn him for a whole day 2-3 times a week, with non-refreshed inventory.
We already have one NPC trader refreshing inventory on a daily cycle (junk seller in the market, whatever his name). Make Finley they same, on a weekly cycle.
