Nrftw multiplayer is AWESOME

me and 2 randoms grouped up on discord and played the entire campaign + crucible in about 3-4 hours, and we had an absolute blast. We had exciting battles, hilarious moments, and a variety of playstyles.

While there’s lots to improve, it’s mainly small stuff. Honestly, on a high level, this is absolute 10/10 entertainment.

And for context: I didn’t / don’t like this game that much in solo play. But this multiplayer experience? 10/10, absolutely genius!

A few things to fix:

  • let multiple people speak with the same NPC
  • Allow us to drop items so the other can pick it up, instead of having to trade it
  • Replace the blue generic “something to pick up” with icons/add names so the right person can pick it up
  • Make town easier to navigate. Trying to help a newbie through town is… not great
  • Reduce the amount of consumables. It’s crazy… I’m carrying 30 different consumables but somehow can’t cook any food, build any project, …
  • Reduce friendly fire damage from melee weapons. Spells and bows are awesome: visual clutter (fun chaos) and knockback, and damage if you have multiple projectiles, but no (or near zero?) damage when it’s single projectiles. When playing with multiple melee characters you literally kill each other instantly at times, which is out of proportion. Knockback and max 5% health would be punishment enough to incentivize doing better
  • Connection errors/reconnecting
  • Can’t add someone to a realm while you’re in the realm (really confusing…)
  • It should be possible to have more than 4 citizens (even if only 4 can load into a real at the same time)
  • Need the ability to add people with an ingame code/invite/name, rather than adding the on Steam

Again, I absolutely loved this experience.

Please extend this beta until the January release, because I’d like to play this the entire Christmas break!
