My perspective of this game has changed

After reaching the Cerim Crucible and running the first gauntlet, I feel like the adventure and exploration fun that drew me into the game at the beginning and up till that point was now sucked out and replaced with a torture death loop. I know it’s still early access and the devs have more planned for the game, but the crucible just took the magic of the game out for me. I don’t feel excited to jump back into the game after a workday. I guess maybe I had too high of expectations for the endgame. IDK

Edit: Oh, and the stat points it takes to use some of the weapons and armor for a certain build towards the endgame is ridiculous…

I think that area is best left for higher levels. It’s optional.

Probably designed more for end game challenge.

Spoilers ahead…

Once you beat the twins, the game is essentially over (for now) .

I think my expectations for early access were too high. I feel somewhat cheated in a way. I’ma crack fiend looking for more exploration!

We got some pretty big zones to explore with lots of nooks and crannies that I haven’t seen everything of yet, but yeah it’s only chapter one so you’ll only get so much out of it for now. At the rate they’re updating the game, however, I’d expect good content updates in the near future.

Well, it’s one thing to release corrections and fixes. Other content updates. I’m not sure that we will see anything new at all in the next 2-3 months. Maybe by then the co-op will be introduced.

I want to be wrong

@Munkeyu4 If it’s any consolation, follow these steps

  1. Open the game
  2. Go into your realm
  3. Open the map, slide with your cursor up/down/left/right into the dark until you’re able to hit the “edge”, make a mental map of the size, north goes particulary far

Hope that helps a bit for what is to come!

Disclaimer: This is all speculation

The concept is good at the core, but rest made poorly.

Most annoying part of crucible is plague flame attack, seems like every knight has it, when dealing with multiple enemies, it becomes harder to spon, since player need to pay attention for every enemy, to doge attacks, absurd amount of damage it does makes it even worse. And they can cast it of the screen.

Enemy placement - they see far, and strike hard. Just was in a run, and what seamed like a good distance to draw to me only one enemy, wasn’t enough, knight ended up running at me with a shield. They put so many enemies close together so game becomes a rolling stone simulator, dogge that, dogge this, do one attack with 2-handed sword, and keep rolling,

Embers - It’s okay to have currency for such things, what is not okay, is that you have no idea where to find this stuff reliably, going around the world looking for every chest, hoping it will has an ember is insanely time consuming, Feels like game loves to waste players time

Repetitive - 10 stages, 6-8 enemies, over and over again, nothing much differs from run to run. I want to play crucible less and less, as I level up, it becomes so boring and mondain. Yes it proposes a challenge, bur lacks a kick to it

So I felt the same way, was having fun through the story, first 20 runs were fine, and slowly it stopped being engaging at all

I think the Cerim Crucible has its own flaws which I also gave feedback about.

But is it not optional content for like farming stuff? I think it is that way.
So just don’t do it. This should not change your perspective of the game whatsoever. Just wait for more story content to drop if you don’t like the Crucible.
