Multiplayer direction feedback

In todays blog (and earlier interviews from Thomas) we’ve seen this:

When someone joins your world in Wicked, they don’t just pass through.

They become a citizen of your world

And while I love that idea for the mentioned scenario, most of the time I personally play games with randoms. I simply don’t have enough friends that game at the same hours or as often as me, but I do love playing with other people.

In essence, I really enjoy short term collaboration with randoms. It feels like your philosophy combined with my gaming reality will feel like every tourist gets a passport for my country, voting power from day 1.

I don’t want that.

In Diablo 2 terms: I don’t want a random to even have the ability to do my Hellforge quest, or kill the Cow King. I want them to come in, do a few Baal runs together and have a laugh, and then be gone.

I’m sure both ways to play can be accommodated for, so I’m just hoping you enable both ways to play.

Thanks for considering

Ginger Prime (a content creator) essentially made the same request in an interview with Thomas (the CEO), and Thomas replied that it is something they plan to implement.

There will be one guest slot in the game:

Information from here: No Rest for the Wicked - Blog Post - Being Wicked Together - Steam News

It seems to me that the fact that there’s only one guest is a coincidence and that you can invite more than one, in fact the graphics say “guestS” plural, I had the impression that the maximum number of players is 4 regardless of whether they are guests or citizens (of course I could be wrong; these are just assumptions).

That would be awesome. At this point, that’s all we have. And the very fact that there are guests already suggests the possibility of playing with random players

I think you can add a mandatory requirement for quests that everyone in the lobby must be present (i mean at the place where quest continues near npc or cutscene). This will prevent unwanted progress on the quest if you leave or simply want to do something else, and it will also prevent players from being trolled.

I also think that the locations should be expanded a little, as some of them can be completed in 20 minutes and there is nothing left to do there once everything has been farmed and killed. On the other hand, it shouldn’t be a two-hour grind of killing mobs in one location. I also hope that there will be an increase in the number of enemies that can be fought in one place. Currently, there are 2-3 in the passages and up to 6 if the location allows it and you weren’t very careful (abandoned quarry). But in the Marin Woods, it will be especially difficult to fight a group because of the height.
