Hello Wicked, As we understand the frustrations behind losing your progression and characters, it was something that was a must with all the major content changes. We do, however, offer a Legacy Branch for you to return to your old characters and saves, however, legacy will not have the newest features and content. To access the Legacy branch, right-click No rest for the wicked in your Steam library, go to properties, then BETA. In the beta drop down you will find a “Crucible_Legacy” option. …

that might be what u are referring too? It was necessary with all the new changes to start a new realm and character for the update.
