Insta Death Mechanic?

Short question…was doing some crucible runs today and there were a few deaths that kinda felt off. At first i thought i was imagining things but the last run it happened very…clearly.

One of these Bulb head shooter mobs one shot me after a stagger. Heavy Armor, full Health and he just poked me to death–is there some kind of mechanic i don’t know about?

There always were deaths where i thought…wait a moment why am i dead? With multiple Mobs around i always thought that i missed sth or did not have as much HP as i thought…but this time it was just me and little bulb head…so….can someone elaborate? I’m kinda curious. :smiley:

just one spike ?

never happened to me but mr bulb does A LOT of damage if your armor isn’t upgraded. or if you accidentally eat a burst from his spin attack.

i’ve died a lot to that guy, he’s my #1 on the kill list every time, unless there’s a fireball witch too. witch is always #1

maybe that not all parts were fully upgraded. but i got like 30% max Health increase too.

And i have fought them before and been killed by them…but never like this.

It really looked like a casual poke :smiley: .

Was just wondering….do you take extra damage when staggered? It was pretty frustrating since it was a good run…and honestly i cannot remember ever been killed by one of those guys one on one when at full HP. (Well maybe with cloth armor on lower lvls).

But since these kinds of deaths happen quite often, especially in the crucible, i am curious how they come to pass. Hard to avoid when not knowing the reason.

I have been insta killed by those spikes when using echoes, rings or other equipment with the text “damage taken increased”.

i try not to use those :stuck_out_tongue:
Anyway i was just curious because those deaths sometimes happen ans sometimes don’t.

So thers no special mechanic behind it, just bad luck with the dmg RNG :smiley:

It would be easier to give feedback if you shared your total health and resistances. I generally build for 300 hp min, so 430 ish using the beds, and at minimum 50-60% physical resistance. I tend to have a barrier though, which is more effective HP. Without a barrier and using a durable mesh chest piece, damage resistance % of durability, and durability enchant, I am sitting close to 80% which has felt fairly tanky.

Would you have a recording by any chance?

If not, it would be nice to setup one; it might be a shiny bug.

For context, the hit is counted multiple times, and you can, or can be, one-shot by anything.
I do not wish to lose my char to a crab, heh.

There is no such mechanic, at least at the moment :slight_smile:
