Incorrect AZERTY bindings in UI menus (All menus, between tabs and map controls)

This is a bug report about some incorrect bindings when you play with an AZERTY keyboard (in my case, in french).

DXDIAG, datastore & Logs : https://wetransfer.com/downloads/a62fe752dde673b6d7e737b733ae117f20251124001505/96293e0b1ff41c97d4fba943dd8785c320251124001508/8db7e6

Note : this following report will be update if I encounter more missing bindings.

HOW TO REPRODUCE

  1. Use an AZERTY keyboard.
  2. Set the game language to french AND/OR verify your player’s movements are set to ZQSD.
  3. Try to use A or Z to navigate in any interface, between tabs, or in the map.

WHERE ARE THE FORGOTTEN BINDINGS?

DIRECT BINDINGS

None of the UI are binded to ZQSD for AZERTY user. It is way more difficult to use interfaces with this problem because of A and Z.

  • Map.
  • All the movement and screen changes can’t be done. You can test in the main menu, in inventory, with sellers, etc.

WRONG SHORTCUTS

The following shortcuts are not corrects for AZERTY users and must be the same as binded in the settings (default ZQSD)

The TAB (user) menu: Q must be replaced by A.

Any interaction with a NPC with a tab menu: Q must be replaced by A.

Thank you for the complete report Unreal!

I’ve forwarded this issue towards the proper channels.

Hi, I would just wand to bump this thread up beacause it’s REALLY frustrating especially to navigate through the map but also for all menu/NPC inventory.

I hope it’s on the devs to-do list.

have a nice day

On an AZERTY keyboard in France, some keys are not registering as expected:

  • Pressing the “q” key (normally “left”) inputs the “a” key instead.

  • Pressing the “z” key (normally “forward”) inputs the “w” key instead.

However, when I press the “a” and “w” keys when remaping, they work correctly.

Since my post was moved here, I would like to clarify that the issue I’m pointing out does not only concern the interface, and that there is a difference between the two.

For player movement, it is possible to correctly rebind the keys by swapping them during the rebinding process, whereas for the interface, there is nothing that can be done.
