After 20+ hrs in the breach update ive come to appreciste the changes made to combat. The sword and board changes are excelent. The focus changes, while tough, are perhaps in defense of over enchantment that can be made in sacra. The use of embers to reshape equipment is great. The two handed weapons are perhaps my one big gripe, and perhaps they should be abke to block at fifty percent efficiency so make up for their slow nature. Overall the more i play the more i want it to stay hard.
The key to the the update is that folks should start investing in equip load and stamina before they chase that sweet weapon theyre after. What mon does here is the same as what dark souls does for vitality and stamina. Once you can rock enough equipment wkth enchantments and youve got 3 to six more stamina leveled the game starts to feel a bit easy. Especially for a shield user. I think the hardest thing this update will teach newcomers and old timers alike is the same as beflre the breach. Preperation changes everything.
I cant tell if the team needs to adress the opening shallows of the game for new players or not. As a vet i know now the drop locations of tools such as axe shovel and pic. I know its better to farm the low level shallows using Filmore as a shop for as long as i like. I know that gems for enchantments are more likely to drop in this area at low level and that its best to amass all your initial timber and ore before gojng into sacra for the first building projects…so its hard to criticize now thst i know. But what seems hardest for folks is that they have to learn what works best in this game and then articulate well if that doesnt work for them rather than using my initial strat of this sucks nerf it please!
